about

"Chicory" is a collection of songs and tunes I wrote July-August 2019 in some of the various folk styles I play. It marks my transformation from classical composer to folk music writer and the tunes are meant to sound old. They all came in one piece and were written in a flash of inspiration in 30 minutes or so each. It's titled "Chicory" after one of my favorite summer wildflowers, which in my experience can't be clipped and kept in a vase.

It was really fun to "orchestrate" these tunes and I am thankful for my friends and mentors who helped make this dream of producing an EP of my original music a reality, and for the experiences that lead me to write this music.
